The national Park Paklenica covers the most attractive parts of Southern Velebit, located at Starigrad, not far from Zadar. It is concentrated in a mere 96 km2. The area of Paklenica National Park stretches on the littoral slope of South Velebit directly above the settlement of Marasovići, up to the zone of the highest mountain peaks (Vaganski vrh, Babin vrh, Sveto brdo) – between 15°23’ and 15°35’ east geographical longitude and between 44°18’ and 44°25’ north geographical latitude.
